They said in the announcement that this came out of the standard notes collaboration

"We built docs in Proton Drive as a joint project with the team from Standard Notes, who share our core values around privacy and security. "

I’m a visionary user of 5 years and am all in on proton. Waiting patiently to replace Dropbox with Drive. But the implementation of drive photos phone sync makes no sense to me. It syncs photos from the phone to drive, yes, but on a PC you can only access them via the web interface, not Windows explorer. So you can’t organize them in any way and have them accessible as regular files.

I turned the feature on recently and … where are the photos stored on Drive? I can’t find them on my PC. I am trying hard to transition over the Drive from Dropbox and Sync.com but it’s confusing in unexpected ways

We can all tell you didn’t read the article.

This makes no sense. You definitely need to follow up with support to find out what happened.

How does Tuta compare to Proton on the root complaint of this post?

I’m looking for a system that uses proton drive. So prefer not to rely on rsync even though it may solve an issue.

Proton Drive usage question
I have a folder ABC that I'm syncing to Drive via the Drive>MyComputer>AddFolder option on Windows. 1. Is there a way to sync this ABC folder on a different PC (logged into Proton Drive as the same user) as well so it's stored locally there and automatically syncs changes bi-directionally? 2. Can this folder show up for other Prodon Drive users as a shared folder of some kind? Or does it first have to be relocated into the Proton Drive folder to be able to do this? 3. In the original PC is there any way to make the ABC folder online-only? Or do I first have to relocate the folder to within Proton Drive in order to do this? Also: how do I share any folder with another proton user (would be user on this same visionary plan) so that it syncs locally on their desktop? Thanks for any help!

100MB of plain text notes is probably quite a lot of notes

That includes free users, in case that wasn’t apparent

Main message, as I see it is, that standardnotes’ long term future is secure.

The concern is who gets to draw the line. Will it be drawn when the Texas AG seeks viewers of a YouTube video about abortion? Once the gates are open, who can really say.

If it’s a free VPN account why not just create a new one that doesn’t have a proton email attached? Assuming they let you do that.

I mean…

How to delete your proton account: https://proton.me/support/delete-account

How to turn off notification email that there is mail in your proton account: https://proton.me/support/notification-email

Don’t like “basically proton ads” emails? Just unsubscribe.

Thank you for looking into this. It’s a major usability gap. Looking forward to dumping Dropbox at the earliest possibility!

Drive and Office Doc preview
Is there any plan to make it possible to view MSOffice documents on Android Proton Drive without first having to download them to the device? It's a real pain right now.

Just curious, not trying to change you mind: other than on the web where do you want to “manage anything”? The mobile app? I haven’t used Gmail in a while but to do anything substantial you always had to use the web.

Yeah, more than 6Tb. My intent is to consolidate into Drive from the two other cloud services I’m using. Thanks for answering.

More Drive space options?
Is there a way to add more Drive space to a Visionary account? If not, are there plans to offer this?

Found the link to download the beta for visionary users:

I'm on a visionary account - how can I access this beta?

"With Proton Mail, you can snooze your emails and be reminded about them at a more convenient time. This ensures you’ll never forget or miss an email, as it will reappear in your inbox when you’re ready to take action. "Note that you can currently only snooze emails from the Proton Mail beta web app. "Anyone can snooze emails for predefined times. If you’re on a paid plan, you can also set a custom snooze time."

Thanks for the clarification. I appreciate the risks but I like my search engine to have some standards rather than no filter at all

There is a sync client for Proton Drive, it’s just not rolled out to everyone yet as it’s in testing. I have it, as a Visionary level account. The phone apps are freely available now, however. I’m not saying they are lightning fast at developing their products but wanted to clarify these points.

Is there a peertube instance that’s for live music video and audio?
