That’s like responding with, “I don’t know, I bought it as a gift,” to Amazon product questions.

It’s the 3-2-1 rule. 3 backups in 2 different mediums with 1 off-site.

I’m fine with a rate increase when costs rise, because they’ve also dropped the rate when costs decrease.

What right is being infringed upon? Facebook is saying your options to use a private service are to pay for it, or receive targeted advertising.

You’re free to just not use any meta products like I do.

This is just about paying to not have ads, not about data collection.

That’s not what is happening here. Facebook is offering to let you pay for an ad free experience. It has nothing to do with shadow profiles.

Yeah, to me it sounds like Facebook is making targeted advertising opt-in, which is a good thing.

You’re free to not use Facebook.

Also, your argument breaks down because there are plenty of free streaming platforms that use targeted advertising as payment for their services.

If anything, Facebook doing this is surprising because they’re making data collection opt-in.

Using Facebook is not something that’s necessary. You’re asking a company to give away services for free.

The whole reason it’s free is because you are the product, and it’s almost always been that way. If you value your privacy and don’t want to pay for Facebook, that’s a personal decision, and the government shouldn’t be involved.

By using a VPN. Most have easy to follow guides on setting it up in your home router or mobile device.

I run all of my traffic over a VPN regardless to thwart my ISP from selling my data. Everyone should.

I’m pretty sure that most people who are using Proton Mail are technologically savvy enough to bypass whatever half assed measure the government puts in place.

Just store the credentials instead. No need to have a full export.

Yes, that’s how free tiers work. I’m sorry this is apparently a new concept for you.

I’m referring specifically to the app. The font used doesn’t have any differentiation between an upper-case i and a lower-case L besides a like 1px height difference.

While this isn’t a problem 99% of the time, it’s a pain when you’re typing a password in manually, especially when you don’t realize what the problem is. I’ve had my account locked on websites that only allow one failed attempt (which I admit is the fault of the website).

Using a serif font for just the password string would remove any ambiguity.

As far as email sorting, I was referring to how Gmail automatically sorts emails into Updates, Promotions, and Social Media. It’s definitely not a deal breaker for me, but it’s a nice QoL feature that might be worth adding to the road map.

Also, with the Password Manager mobile app I’ve run into issues with it filling in usernames from the above the keyboard bar, but not passwords. This happens in both websites and apps.

Eh, Proton Mail is good, but it’s definitely not a full replacement of Gmail. Automatic sorting is a super nice feature that I’m missing.

Also, the font they chose for their password manager is awful for a password manager. Passwords should be in a serif font to remove any doubt about I and l
