I pay for it so you can leach off of it. Go ahead. If you feel they did a good job, then consider subscribing.

$5/month seems ok I guess if you really use it a lot I guess. Definitely not $7.50 though

I like standard notes but $7.50/month for their lowest tier plan is a hard ask

Standard Notes Premium
When SimpleLogin merged with Proton, proton unlimited members are able to use SimpleLogin premium for free. Is that the case for Standard Notes? I haven't figured out a way to do this.
fedilink

But public send won’t allow people to add similar to google drive?

Proto calendar does have an ics thing. Maybe you can use drive to backup your contacts

What’s caldav and carddav used for?

If you do, do it in a vps. Because, if you do it at home, your isp won’t be too keen on your traffic.

If you look up your car and search how to remove internet connectivity or modem, most likely it will show you. I’ve already found how to do this on Chevy and Teslas.

Iphones already did this right? I’m not sure but I heard that they do this.

I think ivpn has port forwarding if you want more options. I’m a proton unlimited subscriber though and I love it.

I mean I totally understood why they chose to give themselves an advertisement but I would still like it if they gave alternatives like tutanota, anon addy, mullvad. Even with those good alternatives, I still go with proton because the unlimited plan is pretty fair and I like the cohesiveness of everything.

Amazing question. A few years ago I started joining degoogle reddit communities and watching privacy youtubers and decided to embark on the journey of privacy and security.

Initially, all this is daunting at first but I feel way more peace of mind now. Now I can live peace of mind knowing nobody can snoop in on my messages, emails, or calls. I know there’s no mic in my phone phoning to google. My computers don’t ping to Microsoft. The thing is you never stop worrying, with the way technology changes and your setup might change. But you know that it has been worth it because you don’t get any scam calls or have your sensitive information posted online.

I don’t know how Denmark did it but my school also made us use Google accounts but they created for it. Some kind of google education thing so they could manage and track us. Absolutely hated it but they never made us make our own google accounts.

Oh no how dare the data sharing service I signed up for shares data

I just checked protonmail on my phone and haven’t received anything. I’m using the fdroid version, don’t know if that makes any difference.

People happy -> no need to commit crime to make themselves happy

Yep, I use ublock origin with the js disabled setting on and it will automatically redirect you to the lite ddg.

:O very cool. Didn’t know about this. I wonder if it will get more discounted if I use a windows xp computer.

That’s interesting. I would think most people willing to pay for Proton would also switch to a more private OS, guess that’s just a small minority of us.

I used to use them a while back but now I use Aegis. I prefer my 2fa offline and disconnected from the internet. I still keep my backups saved in safe spaces though. It served me well to get off of Authy too because last year, they got compromised.

I recommend Raivo or Tofu both open source and I believe you can save and export it somewhere else to backup.

Yeah I might try out Mojeek. I use brave for my searches and do !s [query] to get startpage results for my images

Have you tried brave search? Why do you choose mojeek over that?

Yeah I wouldn’t be surprised if Pegasus was being fixed. It’s been around for years now. But there will still be 0 days. They’re called 0 days because nobody knows about them yet.

Ever hear of backdoors and a little spyware called Pegasus? Technology is already in place and NSA has been doing it since 9/11. All this spyware and it isn’t even effective.

I try to get my work to use Jitsi but they keep going to Zoom. I’ve abandoned pushing it on them but I’ll still use it to do gaming calls with my friends
