Can you point me to which type of installation you’re attempting? You should be able to safely ignore that part if you won’t be accessing it from the outside world. You’ll just be accessing it using the local IP address and port.

No, unfortunately they’re completely different things. This method is definitely not easy, at least the way I see it in my head. I had a chance to look it up and the tool I’m thinking of is called Immich-Go. It requires Immich, so getting everything set up would be a PITA.

The steps would be:

  1. Install Immich (likely the most difficult part)
  2. Import your pictures into Immich using Immich-Go
  3. Those pictures will now be in nice folders for you, as dictated in the Immich settings
  4. Upload those pictures (now with exif data re-attached) to Proton.

I’m not sure about proton, but there are some tools for importing Google Takeout images into Immich (an open source Google Photos replacement). The tools stitch back together the pictures and xml files.

Just going off memory, the tools I’m thinking of typically work directly with Immich, but maybe there’s an option to simply dump the pictures into folders. Worth looking into!

I’m not OP but that 'tik is almost perfect for me, going along with the RB5009 I already have. Is there something similar that can run RouterOS I wonder?

These apps are all pretty basic. I don’t see any major differences. It’s slightly more modern looking, and it checks a lot of boxes for people as far as being simple, open source, and available through multiple channels (Google Play being one). Apparently andOTP hasn’t had any updates in a while, but a 2FA app shouldn’t need many updates anyway.

Things I want in a 2FA app:

  1. Can scan QR codes
  2. Categories
  3. Hide all numbers except the one I tap on
  4. Countdown indication
  5. Import/Export

andOTP and Aegis both do all of this.

I’ve used andOTP and now Aegis (as a result of this thread). Neither require cloud backups.

I hadn’t even noticed. With all the mentions of Aegis it looks like I was behind the times. Aegis was able to import my andOTP entries so I’ll give it a try.

I’ve been happy with andOTP on Android.
