There is no open source RCS messaging app afaik

A fraction, but still not an insignificant amount. Either way, all it does it change /sbin/init to be a symlink to systemd. That’s the same exact thing distros using systemd by default do.

All it does is symlink init to systemd. That is very unlikely to ever cause a problem. It will function the same as using SystemD by default. This distro has been around and working well for quite a long time now.

Besides the Unix philosophy what problems do you have with systemd?

Why would that make it a pass? Did you read the whole thing? It includes SystemD by default and an option to easily switch to it.

There are plenty of trustworthy ROMs out there. Idk who is installing them from XDA forums, but i’m certainly not.

If you’re not willing to flash a rom, then it comes down to trusting Apple or Google more. Although, android also has the benefit of a much larger selection of open source utilities that you can easily install from F-Droid. This is enough for me to prefer even stock Android over iOS, because 99% of the apps on my android phone are open source and I feel I can trust them fully.

You know they still profit from the product right? How the fuck else would they continue to exist?

When you support software you support the company making it, allowing them to grow and profit. If someone does not want to financially support the actions of someone they disagree with, then that is fine.

I dont actively follow crypto but I still know that this is and has been an outdated argument for quite some time. The relevant tokens have switched to proof of work. There are plenty of better things to criticize crypto for.

I don’t think they were implying that it was. Pixel phones don’t have this, but they have loads of other methods of stealing your data. Ungoogled ROMs are focused on complete privacy, not just from google.
