If you are using a stock Android Pixel, it should have a ‘now playing’ feature. It is not privacy-friendly whatsoever, but then again, that’s just stock Android in general. If you are using a custom ROM, then I would suggest just keep using Shazam but use it in a work profile using Shelter, and make the microphone permissions to be “ask every time”.

I’ve been using SoundHound for years but it’s not open source.
Open source may be difficult as it will need some AI for identification.

My pixel does ‘now playing’ which i think you can use as always on or clickable.

Not sure if it’s a pixel thing or an Android thing that was just pre-installed.
Its a pixel thing. In fairly sure its a feature of the assistant that they just made it always on.
