From the team:

Hi everyone,

We’ve been a bit quiet with announcements since the start of the year, with most of our efforts focused on scaling up our server infrastructure to stay ahead of the demands of our rapidly growing supporter base.

This has included adding 14 new countries to support voters in countries with a history of censorship or political interference in the weeks leading up to their election, as well as working to reduce blocking in censored countries, decreasing CAPTCHAs, and increasing download speeds, most notably in France and Germany where we have recently upgraded the last of our 1Gbps servers to 10Gbps. On top of that, we’ve also added over 700 new servers across multiple countries since the year started, including over 100 in the USA, and more than 50 in the UK, Germany, and Switzerland, each: https://protonvpn.com/vpn-servers/](https://protonvpn.com/vpn-servers

Overall quality, reliability, and performance across all platforms will continue to be a key focus area for us in the coming months.

As some of you have already seen from the Android beta release, we have also been working on an improved user interface to make Proton VPN better for you. Expect to see that out for Android and Windows in the coming weeks, with our other platforms to follow. And if you have feedback for us, please share it in the comments!

But we have also been working away on some of the new features that you have all been asking for. Here is an update from the development team on some of them:

  • Apple TV support: Work has started, and we’re aiming for a summer 2024 release.

  • Stealth protocol on the Windows app: We’ve made a lot of progress on this and should have this out in the summer of 2024 as well.

  • Split Tunneling for the Android TV app: We’re aiming for late spring/early summer 2024, to be followed by a split tunneling solution for our macOS app.

  • More for Linux! We just released the Advanced Kill Switch for Linux ( https://protonvpn.com/support/permanent-kill-switch/ ), but there is more to come. Keep an eye out over the next few weeks for a beta of our next feature - Wireguard support.

  • IPv6: Thanks to everyone who helped us with multiple rounds of testing. We’re looking to have this out in a summer/autumn 2024 timeframe after the four previously mentioned items are out the door.

As always, thank you for your support and feedback. We wouldn’t be able to do it without you.

Stay safe,

Proton Team

More Linux more good. Especially so since many servers run Linux, which might want to use Mail and VPN too.
