[Protonvpn.com] March 2024 Proton VPN tips

from the team:

Hi, everyone, If you haven’t visited the Proton VPN blog recently, here’s an overview of the posts published in March:

▶️ Best YouTube alternatives There’s no doubt that YouTube has forever changed the online entertainment landscape. But your YouTube habits are profiled and combined with your search history, Gmail metadata, photo metadata, how you use your Android phone, and much more to profile you and target you with ever more personalized ads. So, we did some research into what other services you could use as a replacement for it.

🎦 Open source Zoom alternatives that respect your privacy Zoom became a household name during the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic. However, the confidence in the platform wavered in the face of privacy and security concerns, so we provided a list of privacy-first alternatives.

⚙️What is private DNS and should you use it with a VPN? We look at what private DNS is, how it can help protect your privacy, and how to enable it on your device, but also why you shouldn’t use it with VPN.

Additionally, many of you have been interested in our initiative to provide free VPN to users in countries with upcoming elections, particularly in countries with a history of online censorship. Make sure to also check our predictions for this year regarding this subject. You can follow our blog here: https://protonvpn.com/blog/

No. As I said. Newpipe is outdated. It won’t be updated anymore. Tubular is the successor of newpipe.

I think you might want to double check that info.

Either way, tubular is probably what you want, right now, until NewPipe accepts feature PRs again. 👍

WDYM? The newpipe github has the following disclaimer:
