Consider your threat model. You could use a yubikey for Bitwarden log in.

This is a great option, I have used it too in the past. Since, I have switched to iCloud when they implemented e2e encryption. Seems no one else here goes that route, trust issues maybe.

I do miss versioning with iCloud.

I have proton drive too, waiting on that osx client.

I’m really missing emergency contacts that will be allowed to acces your vault if the shit hits the fan. Although I am excited about the project, I can’t move over from Bitwarden if this isn’t added.

I am researching Duplicati for backup purposes. I guess now with proton rclone support, that would apply to duplicati as well. That would be great as I only have iCloud and proton drive as cloud storage solutions.

You can use 2fa with proton as well. I have yubikeys configured for instance.

master password proton pass
What would be the recommended route for logging in to proton pass? Currently I have a random string password string stored in Bitwarden and auto fill whenever I need to login to proton. Obviously I need to remember my master password to gain access to my vault. If I were to potentially switch over to proton pass exclusively, I would need to change the proton password in something I can remember instead. I would argue it might actually reduce the security challenge for the proton account. Any thoughts on the topic?

I think you log in with your proton account, that supports yubikeys for 2fa
