… What? The entire post and article are about the crypto wallet they made, it doesn’t even mention AI. They did sort of go into AI with proton scribe (llm model for writing/proofreading emails) but that’s completely separate from this post and article.

Side note, they’re still working on mail, drive, VPN, and their office suite apps. Their proton docs got real time collab earlier in the year iirc. They have different teams doing different things, wallet was a bad decision and a waste of time and resources, but it doesn’t mean they aren’t doing other things too


I genuinely don’t get why they made a Bitcoin wallet, but all of their other services are direct competitors to (and imo much better than) the Google suite apps and made it much easier to de-google my life


Throw Linux on it or reinstall windows if you don’t want to learn Linux. I assume it’s a new PC, but you never know what may be on there regardless. A new install with a complete overwrite is the way to go imo.

For Linux, it personally use arch (btw) and love it but it’s not super beginner friendly. I’ve heard good things about Linux mint for beginners so that may be a good place to start
