That’s not really how those laws work though.

Neither is a teen freely sending a nude selfie of themselves to their teen SO.
Many family photo albums feature naked kids in various stupid situations that were just thought to be cute and funny at the time, which would nowadays melt peoples brains if they’d hear about it, and certainly would fall under the same laws that would punish the teen in the other example.

I wonder how they’d handle some families photo albums.

I swear I’ve read a similar headline a while ago of some teen being charged for that, because they sent nude selfies of themselves.

My main issue is they want credit card info to get an API key, which is required if you want to use it through (properly integrated) addons or whatever. The translations are pretty much magic though. Really good results most of the time.

I could see it happen eventually. Would definitely be the best outcome for this whole consent banner madness.

Then use an addon that uses translation services like Google or DeepL? Or hire an actual translator if you feel that’s also unacceptable.

It’s called legal precedence.

I’m so glad I went with a Pixel 4a. Main factors were the smaller size, but I also chose it over the cheaper Samsung alternative because of the OS. Stock Android is just nice, because then you only have to worry about the Google bullshit and not also all the other bullshit on top of that.
