I understand that this goes against the nature of what signal believes in. But in my opinion the only way forward for signal is to license their code under the AGPL and offer the big tech companies that rely on their encryption to purchase a custom license. The other messaging apps will use signal’s protocol anyway, may as well make them pay the running costs.




Louis himself stated multiple times that he is fighting r2r beacuse it affects his livelihood and that he’s a piece of shit. While that is an important fight nonetheless, that’s not privacy directly.



If you use any Chromium based browser you’re already not respecting your privacy. By allowing Google to grow its market share, you basically allow them introduce shit like WEI without any pushback. If they owe only 1/3 of the market and the other 2/3 doesnt support it, their implementation will die.

All Chromium users are what will bring the death to the open web.
