I’m good with this response. I’m a Firefox user so can’t yet make use of scribe, but its a feature I didn’t expect and don’t have today so I’m not missing out. For others with different threat models, if they can use it and enjoy, then more power to them.

I don’t know specifically, but you can look at blocking Steam’s telemetry.

Does Apple encryption encrypt it from Apple? I legitimately don’t know the answer to this, but I doubt it. Proton can’t see your data even if they wanted to.

Exactly. The photos folder being separate sort of makes sense on mobile, but it’s only accessible on mobile which makes no sense.

One of my requests in the survey was to make it available as a dedicated folder, or better yet let me decide the destination folder.

I just filled out my survey and noted twice that I use Lemmy and not their current communities. Maybe they’ll listen if enough of us ask.

Numbering the folders isn’t dynamic though. If you add a folder later you might need to rename others, which is annoying in itself but then would break any filters applied to them too. I’d rather just organize them as I want manually. It’s not hard to drag and drop them.

I 100% do not want my folders sorted alphabetically. The importance and workflow of my folders doesn’t fit into that scheme.

I love the fact that I can drag my folders into my preferred order.

I’m not sure how any service will help with your YouTube problem. I’m a bit unclear on the details you described, but switching emails doesn’t change YT dynamics at all.

But I can comment on Proton. I willingly pay through the nose for their services, to get the suite and support their cause. I recommend them to everybody.

But their services aren’t perfect.

They have their own contact list (which makes sense since it’s encrypted) but that essentially means you have to maintain 2 lists now (because your phone can’t access the list for calls and messages).

Their calendar is functional, but lacking compared to other modern calendars. I’ve used it as my primary calendar for a while now, so its usable, but I mention its not great because the calendar seems to be a big feature for you. I’m testing out Fossify Calendar myself now.

Proton Pass is meh. A lot of people like it, and I haven’t tried it since it launched (or maybe was beta) so it wouldnt be fair to critique the details, but I like Bitwarden better. Regardless though, I don’t like the idea of my password manager password being the same as my proton account. That’s not an option though.

But overall yes, the proton suite is great and I think well worth the money. Just understand it’s not Google, nor will anything be like Google. In lots of ways that’s a good thing.

Same here. My android icons all have full names. I haven’t messed with icon or text sizing at all.
