I’ve seen a few accounts posting “controversial” opinions here which link to that same website. I don’t want to sound like as much of a conspiracy theorist as OP, but I wonder if its all bait to drive up traffic to their own website.

Yeah 100%. I don’t hold that against anybody though. They’re making content. They’re getting us to talk about it. So far so good. But limiting yourself outside of YouTube is going to miss a huge audience you could grow into.

I think we are very small, niche community. We had some massive growth, but we’re kind of contracting a little bit. I wish for a better future for Lemmy. But it’s going to take a while. We’re just not the big reach platform right now.

I’m starting to recognize names. Having post conversations with the same people over and over again. It’s kind of fun. Feels like a nice small community

  9. No help vampires: This is not a tech support subreddit, don’t abuse our community’s willingness to help. Questions related to privacy, security or privacy/security related software and their configurations are acceptable.
  10. No misinformation: Extraordinary claims must be matched with evidence.
  11. Do not post about VPNs or cryptocurrencies which are not listed on privacyguides.org. See Rule 2 for info on adding new recommendations to the website.
  12. General guides or software lists are not permitted. Original sources and research about specific topics are allowed as long as they are high quality and factual. We are not providing a platform for poorly-vetted, out-of-date or conflicting recommendations.
