Honestly a big debate, so it really depends on your threat model. Lots of people even keep their totp seeds within their password manager which basically defeats 2fa imo, but it’s highly convenient. Personally I keep my totp seeds seperated in a sandboxed user profile.

Iirc theyre these expensive discs that are highly resistant to disc rot (or something along those lines) for at least 1000 years. Kinda gimmicky tbh since it still needs to be stored properly to achieve that claim and suffers from the same problems as any other optical disc (the equipment needed to read and write and still durability)

Curious why M-disc specifically? Isn’t that storage media kind of expensive for the amount of storage space you get? Plus unless every disc is getting buried in a capsule, you would still have to baby it like any other optical disc even though its more durable.

Atm a burner dropbox account with cryptomator on top. Going to see how mega works with cryptomator and hopefully that will be my replacement

For security: aegis (totp manager) , keepassxc/dx (password manager), veracrypt (local encryption) and cryptomator (cloud/mobile encryption). Thats it pretty much everythng else I use is more for privacy Edit: cant believe I forgot about ublock origin. it’s like a condom for the internet

Regardless of os full disk encryption is your friend and keep regular backups incase shit hits the fan. Rely on bookmarks as much as possible to minimize your chances of clicking on phishing links and stick to trusted sites. Lastly use a trusted vpn with a killswitch even if you dont think you need one it never hurts.

Think changing chromium for something like mull, on a seperate device/sandboxed user profile where you never input other information and setup a killswitch for the vpn would probably be better

Sadly dont think you can buy locally from a store but only through their website, they’ll deliever to the address that you put so maybe use someone else’s and just pick it up like a friend’s or family member’s. Think they also do esim but im not 100% but if they do that would be emailed so no waiting

Yeah second this depending if youre in the us and your phone supports dual sim or esim, the cheapest prepaid plan is like 5$ a month with tello for unlimited text just use fake info

I made a separate user profile just for my social pwas since I use grapheneos. They’ll probably use discord or whatsapp so treat it like a public forum, stick with alias emails, fake info when creating, an always on vpn, and within a browser thats has privacy hardened features. If they want to talk more privately like through direct messaging and you trust them then try to convert them to signal otherwise simplex works too if you dont trust them with your personal phone number

For ios used to say raivo but i would honestly just make a kdbx file just for your totp seeds only and then use something like keepassium or strong box. I think those allow cloud syncing too but im not sure still keep local backups
